Quick history, last year around mid march I got a Canon rebel xt (350d) and a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 macro lense. For the first year or so this has been great, taken around 15,000 pictures with it and no trouble.

Now the reason for the post. I'm looking into picking up a simple flash and another lense or two with more zoom then I have now. I've been on here very little in since making my initial purchase and have very little knowledge of what to look for in equipment. I don't really have a ton of time to search either since mid/late march I'm going to colorado for spring break and would like to have another lense and a flash by then. I shoot very few people up close for individual pictures and do not shoot inside much. Most of my stuff is groups of people, scenery, long exposure night objects, some moving items (skiers, atvs, vehicles mostly), some stuff for the local fire department which is where a good flash would be nice, and the occasional animal picture. Most of my "subjects" are within 150ft away but I do also go to the occasional air show so I need something that can get pretty good quality pictures of aircraft flying.

I'd like to keep it under a grand total for a lense and flash. I'm just looking for suggestions of what I should look into to narrow down the search a little.

Here is some sample shots I've taken to give a better idea of what interests me.

It all depends on your budget...70-200mm f/2.8 is an incredible lens!
