Handheld at 1/5? Very nice, what lens were you using?

Also, was there a lot of PP? I'm still learning, but the colors on yours really pop! They are great thanks for sharing!

Very well done, given the circumstances -- night and handheld. Also, the colors are brilliant and vivid.

Nice work.

your photos are really good...but the fact you didn't use a tripod, I'm VERY impressed. what time did you take these?

Thanks all for the kind words... I wish I had time to capture more stuff while out there, but there is always next time...

Handheld at 1/5? Very nice, what lens were you using?

A Canon 35mm f/1.4L took the top two images and a 15mm f/2.8 fisheye took the bottom image, all were taken with a full-frame Canon 5DMkII camera.

Also actually if you follow the Flickr link you can under 'more properties' see all the EXIF information on the exposure.

Also, was there a lot of PP? I'm still learning, but the colors on yours really pop! They are great thanks for sharing!

Actually there is very little photoshop work going on here, in fact the only thing Photoshop was used for was to add the frame and logo (which is somewhat hidden in a few of the shots), all the other processing was done in Adobe Lightroom. All that I did was give the color a little pop and do the normal sharpening that I would do on any image, also I think I used a gradient filter to lower the exposure intensity of the 'Paris' hot-air balloon that was a touch overly bright... but yeah these shots are pretty close to 'as is'.

your photos are really good...but the fact you didn't use a tripod, I'm VERY impressed. what time did you take these?

These shots were taken between 9PM and 10PM local time, and the sun would have set not much later than 6:30 or earlier I think... The sky was mostly clear and there wasn't any twilight left. Ideally I personally would have gotten out a bit earlier but I was so busy with the WPPI convention in Vegas that it was hard to find time to get out and actually shoot.

Here are two more images that I took a few nights before from on top of the MGM Grand looking out from one of their two floor suites that have each have a balcony overlooking the city (I didn't stay in that room specifically, the album company Finao had two of the suites for a party, pretty cool). These were also hand held.
