Or we just call them Cattle Egrets . . . but these are in full breeding colors, as is everything else in these parts.

We call them cattle egrets too... ours haven't quite made the color changes yet. Nice capture.

Pretty shot. Our cattle egrets don't seem to have the color or wild hairdo. Yours may come from California. LOL

Thanks for enjoying the Cattle birds with me . . . they are fun in the spring.

Are these what most folks call shore birds? I could use some help with terms and such if this is so. I did not care much for the "Little Birds" and other such until I started to 'shoot' again. Now I enjoy them double . . . a wonderful thing.

Kind regards to all as always.

If we get them in these parts, I've never had the good fortune to see one.

Really nice shot, RJ!

Oh . . . Sandy, you are so kind. Thank you and everyone whom liked the Cattle Birds. They are fun for sure. I think a much better photo of his majesty awaits me. We will see. We are getting more and more birds in and some of them I do not know so I may have a few surprises in the days to come.

My kind regards as always.

No,. Cattle egrets I do not think are considered in the catagory of shore birds :)
(although they certainly can be found there)

Nice shot. We have way too many here in Louisiana. I have herd them called that and many other things, flying roaches, rats with wings, etc. Seems they are attracted to the sound of tractors. Every time I start bush-hogging I end up with about 30-40 following me eating the grasshoppers and such. But they are pretty in their spring colors.

I would seem that it is always so . . . one mans treasure is another mans junk, or versa visa. We do not see that many, so they caught my eye. I thought them funny white egrets at first, but then saw them for Cattle Egrets in their best dress, lol.
