I have a Hoya Pro UV filter on mine...what about you folks?
What do you think are the pros and cons of having/not having one? Thanks :)

Assume this is for lens protection more than anything else ? The UV filter will not do much as the sensors are not sensitive to it as film used to be. You might be better off thinking about the MPE-65-lens hood as this would help protect the lens and also help stop getting flash directly back into the lens.

orionmystery,
I have a B+W F-Pro MRC 010 filter on mine. I choose a filter over the hood because I barely have enough room to get the light to the subject as it is ;) And a few times I have hit the filter trying to get subject in focus, luckily not the lens!

Yes, Brian, more for protection. Oh I see, thanks :D..didn't know that DSLR sensors are not sensitive to UV as film sensors used to.
