Can anyone recommend a good guide for a beginner looking to take some astronomy pictures, equipment needed, set up and technique. Nothing to technical, just a good beginners start. Thanks.

Michael Covington has a few good astro imaging books. For the more serious, I highly recommend "the new CCD astronomer" by Ron Wodaski. Simply awesome.

Making Beautiful Deep-sky Images: Astrophotography with Affordable Equipment and Software (Patrick Moore's Practical Astronomy Series) by Greg Parker is pretty no-nonsense and practical. The images from his collaboration with Noel Carboni are inspirational (if anyone has seen their image of Comet Lullin you will know what I mean).
