I have 8 batteries from my 40D. Some are atleast 5 years old. I inherited them along with a bunch of other equipment. They seem to work fine when i recharge them. Just wondering are they good enough to keep or sell.
Or do they lose their power potency after years of use.

I would think all batteries eventually lose some charge, but my 350d batteries I bought 4 years ago are still going strong...

As long as you don't notice a drop in performance, I would keep them around. I just got a few sterlingtek batteries for backup (and extra capacity) and have been happy so far.

There's not really a good market for used batteries, at least from what I've seen. If it's a Canon one, I'd probably pay 10-15 bucks for a used one.

Wow. Okay. There is only one Canon battery. 4 power 2000, 2 impact. I was going to ask for fifty bucks for 6 of them.
O well its worth a try.http://photography-on-the.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=344874&stc=1&d=1235501896

You won't get 50 bucks for six 5+ year old generic batteries, especially since you don't even know for sure if they're good. Like Number Six said, you can get 6 brand spanking new ones at SterlingTek for $72 and that includes a warranty. Look on eBay and you can get 'em even cheaper still.
