maybe you had to use a higher shutter speed, so the birds wouldn't have been blurry

not a bad shot, the cropping is a little tight though.

Looks like the south coast near Bournemouth?? (Boats registered in Poole), I agree the cropping is a bit drastic, but nice use of depth-of-field to isolate it from the coastline. Keep using your new 'toy', the main thing is to take pictures and enjoy yourself!
