Nice colors and composition. Number 4 doesn't look like anything I've come across in Southington though! Looks like a few places I've been to in CA. Where was that taken?

Coventry!! I Grew up in Tolland! I lived there for 20 years... The pictures were taken in the following locations..

1. Hammonasset State Park
2. Hammonasset State Park
3. A stream in the woods, off Peter Green Rd. in Tolland CT
4. Emerald Isle North Carolina
5. Emerald Isle North Carolina
6. Mansfield Training School - The Knight Hospital, Mansfield CT (At the intersection of 44 and 32..)

Here's another picture from Mansfield Training School, and a story to follow..

This picture was snapped through a window at the abandoned Mansfield Training School. The window was a basement window, so it was one of those 7 or 8 inch high windows that comes up off the ground and views down into a room... I laid my camera on the ledge, set it up for a flash then a 6 second exposure or something to get the ambient light (Very creepy) and hit the shutter.

My shutter clicked and the flash went off, and as soon as that noise happened I heard from down the hall out of that room a bang and what sounded like several footsteps.. I wanted to grab my camera and run, but this was for a photo contest, so I had to wait for the exposure to finish, 6 or 8 seconds or something...

I was SO scared something creepy was going to come out of that black room behind the door :)

I like all your images. Never thought a lame old 3M dust mask could be a point of interest as in picture No.6 :)

Love the area. I've only been here since mid summer though. Can't wait for spring, I have my eye on some places to shoot. I was able to get some fall color, but as Murphy would have it, that was about the time my shutter went out. My camera was in NJ for repair during the peak. Oh well, next year!

Thanks :)
That photo was taken at that same abandoned building as the picture of the door, the dust mask is probably from someone who went inside for photography or some state official.. it was laying on the front step of the place with vines growing all around it...

:) Very cool.. You'll enjoy it... I lived on Grant Hill Rd. for a while.. Being in Coventry you are right near that abandoned insane asylum... here it is on Google Maps..

Definitely an interesting spring subject, the whole outside is covered with Ivy, and it has a very eerie vibe for sure..
