A friend let me borrow his 400mm lens and I decided to take a picture of the sun. Cropped 100% with very little post processing. Hope you like it!

i've always been curious about the filters used to take photos of the sun.

You're lucky the sun was smiling. If he's unhappy and you take a direct photo he burns your retinas and camera sensor out.

Hopefully you are not using LiveView while shooting directly into the sun like that....you could end up damaging your sensor ;)

I think I see some signs of chromatic aberration (orange fringing), better check your lens.

Lol....I think he's referring to my user name. Nitrox is a mixed gas (nitrogen and oxygen) used in scuba diving. And yes, fill flash. LOTS of it! :)
