I want to travel somewhere in Canada. Not BC as I lived there for 28 years and I now live in Ottawa.
I wanted to go somewhere to snap pictures of places with character and as well natural beauty. 3 places I have come up with so far is Quebec city, Montreal and St. Johns Narrows (looking for colorful houses).
Can anybody tell me where the nicest places in Canada for this would be? Heck, maybe Id even bus a little south into the states since Im above NY.

Depends what time of the year you go...In terms of the US, The Adirondacks in northern NY are spectacular in the summer / autumn, and another superb place to go to would be in upstate Maine. For Canada, you can't go wrong with Quebec City (never heard a bad thing about it), and Montreal has a lot going for it. Good luck in your voyages!

I was thinking of Quebec city and Montreal. Very close to me. Never heard of the Adirondacks but it looks beautiful.

It is a large national park region in upstate NY. Just take I-87 south from Montreal, and you'll go right through the heart of it. Best time of the year is late summer through to the autumal times when the leaves change colour. You won't be disappointed.
My choice between Montreal and Quebec City? Go for Quebec City!

Can't go wrong with Montreal and Quebec City. Or, Nova Scotia. Or, Newfoundland. Gaspe Peninsula is good. Calgary and Canadian Rockies another winning combo. I love PEI.
