We just call these Great Blue Heron, Herons . . . but then what do we know? I finally got a clear shot of this hard to photograph bird, at least for me. There are so few of them in the area that one does well to locate even one for a shot. Some say they walk the streets of Florida? LOL, well not here.

Nice shot, Rod. Maybe not on the streets, but there is no shortage of them here. Of course, we are surrounded by water. On the other hand, we never see elk here.

The water makes this one special. We see quite a few around our Lake House in Northern Wisconsin in the summer. I am going to spend a good deal of time up there with nature this summer. You guys are inspiring.

Nice......
We have a pair of huge blue herons up at the lake but I haven't seen much of them yet this year..... One year I was fishing along, minding my own business when one flew so low over my head the noise was a little frightening and caused me to duck, LOL.

Nice work, RJ. You could make a neat avatar out of that one.
I'm hoping for another shot, but for now I think I've scared them away from the park. I doubt the kingfisher (or the bluebird I harassed today) will be back, either.

I really like him in the water with the reflection. I saw some last weekend, but I didn't get any shots. I still can't believe the varaiety of wildlife you have up there to keep you on your toes.

Second semester . . hmmm, lol. Ok, that was a good one. I will have to clean up my language skill here on POTN. I would need one with him/her looking for its belly button . . . so I might have to wait a while. However I do have a shot like that of a Sand-hill Crane.
I emailed this to everyone I know . . . even though it is not that 'good' it is the best we have of a bird we have been chasing for quite a while. It has almost gathered "BIG FOOT" status round our house.
Thanks you all as always . . . you are so kind.
