I was not able to find an answer on the forums about how much to charge if some one approaches you and would like to use a photo.

So here goes, I was e-mailed through flickr that some one from a Graphic Design company would like to use a photo of mine for one of their clients in a directory for a doctors office. I have yet to call her back and get the full details because I was hoping to have some what of an idea of what the "Industry Standard" is for this sort of thing. So if some one know a ball park figure I should be asking for, for usage in this form (they are asking for a high res copy) it would be greatly appreciated. Or the link to a website where I could try and figure this out myself that would be great too.

I have never yet sold an image and don't want to get ripped off, charge too little (as I can always use some extra cash), and I don't want to sound like I have no idea and get taken advantage of.

Let me thank you ahead of time for any helpful replies I get. I hope to call her back tomorrow and go from there.

GettyImages.com is a very successful stock photo company. After you join for free, you will be able to use their stock license price calculator for almost any type of use as a guideline for your own efforts.

Thank you very much. I will look into that, I called the agency today that wants to use my picture and it's not final yet if they are going to use it or not, but if they do she said it's only going to be 1"x1" in a brochure. So I'm not expecting much out of the deal but it's a start and I can use all the extra money coming my way that I can get. When her client approves or disapproves the "rough draft she has made she is supposed to call me back and give me the details of how many copies of the brochure they are printing. If they even use it.
