I am on a VERY SMALL budget for this. There's no actual number, just try getting me as small as a number as possible.

What I need it for: Storing at home only. I have a hard case I use to transport what I need and a belt bag to carry around back-up body and lenses while I'm working.

What I have that needs to go in it:
5D Gripped
40D (may be gripped someday, but probably not)
24-105mm f/4
28mm f/1.8
50mm f/1.8 (1.4 soon, I hope)
100mm f/2.8
580EX II
430EX II
Folded up Lumiquest Mini Softbox
8 CF Cards
Accessory Kit (card reader, cleaning kit, battery chargers, tons of AAs and chargers, etc)
And I'd like it to be usable when I finish building my kit, which will eventually include the 70-200mm f/28, another zoom, and someday another (smaller) prime.

I ONLY need this stuff to have a safe place to store at home. It can be soft sided, even a backpack or other storage method. What do you think?

The Pelican cases are not that expensive. I think I bought my 1514 for about $160. I think you can fit all that in the 1514 or the 1614 and it will protect it from just about anything.

Why not a drybox/dry cabinet? Lowers the chances of fungus growth in your equipment too.

I would recommend clear plastic bins from Home Depot or Lowes with the egg crate padding used in Pelican cases. I had posted previously a similar question, and this was one of the least expensive options. If durability is an issue (will this home storage get banged around alot?) I would go with a Pelican system altogether.
