My small wedding photography business has a basic equipment and liability policy through State Farm. I also include an extended Limitation of Liability paragraph in my contracts that attempts to protect me from CF cards going bad, etc. What I don't have is Professional Liability or Errors and Omissions inusrance.
It's been a challenge to find it at all, let alone as a distinct policy. I know PPA offers something to members (I am not one), but their site doesn't make it clear what that is and what it costs. My business is a small one; by design, I shoot about a dozen weddings/year. So my questions are:
- How much should I be concerned about this exposure?
- To what extent can I count on my contract terms protecting me?
- If you do have it, through who?
- What do you get through the PPA and at what cost?
Thanks for any and all insights.
