George Clinton may not have the Mothership as a prop anymore, but he's still got the grooves and the army of musicians and singers to bring it. Up for the down stroke, y'all!! Tony, i'm guessing the stage they played when you shot 'em was too small for rollerskates?
great show, and 'maggot brain' was brain-sizzling (though the preamble was far too long and boring).
Security was cool about shooting from the balcony after the 3rd song too, which was nice since someone named Mary Griffin (?) tore a hole into a blues number and the subsequent cover of "Proud Mary" - damn could she sing!

this was a rush job and i basically did no PP at all...as it was i went to bed at 3AM...i'll probably take a bit more time later to work 'em a bit better.

thanks all! it was nice to not change lenses at all...i'm definitely digging the two bodies and seamless 24-200 focal range. and i still can't sing the high ISO praises of the mkII enough. it's really nice to have the luxury of stopping down and still getting fast shutter speeds w/o having to worry about any noise.

Nice shots Tim. Question for you, what was your setup?
5d with 24-702.8 and 5dII with a 70-200 2.8? I see the ISO of the 5DII is amazing (looked at your other thread with the iso 6400 shots) but how is the focus? From your images it looks pretty good, especially if you did no PP.

yep, short lens on 5D, long lens on 5D2. focus was excellent, but the light was pretty good too...it wasn't real stringent test. i'm shooting Blitzen Trapper @ the Paradise tonight; that should give me a better idea.

Nice shots, but...
Common Narlus, post some pics here... There is no slide show at your link, is there?

well i guess i gotta take a closer look @ the waiver i signed last night...it's in the back pocket of my jeans, laying on my floor.
i agree that prefixmag could do a better job displaying galleries...
however...if you are good at reading invisible ink, you might find some information...

Ouch... You mean you're subject to more restrictive rules? What do they want from us, blood?

Great set, narlus. I can see that the costumes were a bit different in Bahstahn than Ethan Allan country. Indeed the stage was probably 1/3 - 1/4 the size of HoB at Higher Ground...no roller skates...not even ice skates.
Now where's my secret invisible ink decoder ring? lol.

I was at the Paradise last night and ISO 6400 came in handy for stopping down a bit. There was a reserved roped-off area as you go up the stairs on the left (looking at the stage) and the security guys didn't give me any trouble shooting from there.
