I am in the market for a tripod for the 20D that is arriving by DHL tomorrow. (From dell, $1300 with kit lens, no tax, delivered in WA)
I have been stooping over the tripod my dad got me for my tenth birthday, 20 years ago. It is falling apart, and now that I am 6'5" and have a little dough to spend, I would like to upgrade.
So....what tripods are out there that comfortably extend to 72" and will come in at a max of $200?

The Slik Pro II hits that height I think and must be about that price. The Pro 4 is longer still (something like 90 inches) but also double that price!!

I picked up a used (rated EXC, but essentially like new) Bogen 3036, from KEH, about 2 years back. It'll extend to 7 feet, and that's without the center column extended. Ran about $120.
It's not my most often used tripod, but it does come in handy at times. Plus, it's sufficiently tall that I can mount my refractor (telescope) on it and observe objects high in the sky without having to stoop over or drop to my knees.
Very big, sturdy, big, heavy, big, impressive tripod, from one of the major names (Bogen/Manfrotto) in tripods. And a steal at the price, if one wants a really big tripod.
If KEH doesn't have any used ones at the moment, they turn up on eBay sometimes, too.
