430ex off camera ?

I did a search on the forum and found the answer once but can't seem to find it again. Please forgive me. I understand to use the flash off camera there are a couple ways. I decided that I want to go the route of radio triggers. My question is in addition to the triggers, what other items will I need? Adapters, cord? Again sorry to ask a question already answered but can not find it again for some reason.

If you want to buy radio triggers, then you just buy the transmitter and receiver.
Edit: extra batteries and charger. I'm sure you will also want to get some light stands, brollies or softbox.

Note that most, if not all, cheap "eBay" triggers will not work with the 430EX. You'd have to buy a set of brand name triggers, or get a very specific optical slave made by Sonia (it's got a green base and the name specifically states 'EX'). Note that with this optical trigger you would need another flash (other than your built-in one) in order to set off the 430.

If you get PW's, CyberSync's or any other without a female hot shoe mount, you will need a hot shoe adapter as the 430EX has no input for the trigger.

Agree with FlashZebra but this (http://www.flashzebra.com/products/0126/index.shtml) is the product that you need. Mount the flash in your hotshoe and plug the sync cord into your PW and your all set.

there are many good reviews on ebay trigger pt-04 TM (CRT-301) which was said to work very well with 430EX. you might want to check out.

Why not get a ST-E2 speedlight transmitter? Your 430ex already has a built in reciever for it. You don't need any additional items, just the transmitter and a battery. I mean why by a reciever for something else while your flash already has one built in. True, it runs off infrared, but to me, that is less things to get.

BTW,, I tested my ST-E2/430EX yesterday.. 10 meters in strong sunlight,, not too bad..
