Ok, ok, ofcourse we should be discussing Canon DSLRs here, but it's interesting to see what the others are doing. Nikon is going to introduce two new DSLRs soon, the D50 and the D70s. It's not just a rumour anymore: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0503/05033105nikond50real.asp

Hehe .... 'Soon' is always relative when talking about NOINK products
Any guesses to the specs for the D50 yet?
What about a 5 MP entry level camera priced a bit cheaper than the DRebel XT hitting the market around Christmas 2005 ?
Best regards,

The 'leak' was a copy of the owner's manual as a PDF file. If it is accurate, it has all of the specs (at least how they are written today :p ). Follow the link in this thread:

What's the date today?
For Ni*on, don't we count it as B.C. (Before Camera)?

WOW!
6.1 MP, 2.5 fps ... seems like NOINK had a competitor for the 300D at last.
Still, they might have to hurry to bring it to the market as long as the 300D is still available

I really don't see the need for a 6.1mp camera in today's market unless they plan on selling it real cheap.......like $599 or thereabouts. I can't imagine any of us would get very excited if Canon brought out a new 6mp camera right now, regardless of price or features. It would have to be pretty special to get our attention.
It's going to be intereseting when we find ouselves in a market where high-end P&S cameras will cost more than the low-end DSLRs. Actually, we're just about there now.

What are Canon D60s going for now? They need to price it no more then 20% higher then used D60.
Other then USB 2.0 and SD cards, the C-D60 looks more powerful then the N-D50.
5 focus points, ISO 200-1600, 2.5 FPS, 6.1MP
The D60 has 5 focus points, ISO 100-1600, 3FPS, 6.3MP
I am leaning towards April Fools joke on Nikon, except the PDF came out yesterday.
With Nikon's track record I suspect it will be fall at the earliest for actual camera release.
Just my opinion, But I am bias and have a better camera system. 8)

I've heard that the D70s is going to be released very soon, and this could be true seeing as how N***n Can. seems to have run out of the D70.

It may be that Ni*on is using the same strategy we all have used with the P&S vs. DSLR argument - 'Our pixels are better than your pixels, so 6.1 million of them are better'. Nice argument if you can make it . . .
