G'Day All.
Spent the day at Shortland Wetlands Centre, in the suburbs of the city of Newcastle.
A great spot for getting photos of waterbirds. I think i've found out that I need a better lens for photographing birds in flight :-) :-).

Heres a few from the today.
The first is a Sacred Ibis (Threskiornis aethiopica).
EOS300D + 75-300 II ISO400 1/1000 f8. Cropped off the right and bottom.

The second is a Magpie Goose (Anseranas semipalmata).
EOS300D + 75-300 II ISO400 1/1000 f11.

A couple more
Firstly, the Spangled Drongo (Dicrurus megarhynchus), a bird that looks like it has a fishes tail :-).
EOS300D + 75-300II ISO400 1/1000 f5.6

Secondly, a flier of a different kind. A dragonfly..type unknown
EOS300D + 75-300II ISO400 1/1000 f10.

Great work, Steve! The clarity is amazing.

Maybe it's my claustrophobia, but I'd like it better if the croppings weren't quite so tight.

Thanks Tupe.

I'd like it better if the croppings weren't quite so tight.
Didn't have a lot of choice on the ibis. He had just about flown out of the frame (underestimated how fast they fly :-) ). I could have left some space behind, but it looked a little off like that.
