I am borrowing a friend's Jones Flash Bracket (http://www.veachco.com/j-35.htm) and I want to connect the cord to the bracket. The shoe mount slides right into place but I can't figure out how to lock it in place. As it is, the flash with cord would slide right off the bracket. Any ideas?

The circled screw does not exist on my bracket, so I am guessing this is the problem. Problem is, on my bracket, I don't even see a place where this screw would go. So, I am pretty confused here.

Go to the link you provided in your first post. Page down to the bottom and take a look at J-26. That's what you would need.

Oh I see. So I would screw that piece into the cord and then attach the whole thing to the bracket?

Yes, that is correct.
