I found this female pileated woodpecker in the same park where I've scared so many other birds away. She was unflappable (sorry) and allowed me a score of pictures from several angles. This was the clearest:

Great shot of a very difficult bird to see never mind photograph.. :) They are so elusive. I've heard them many times but only seen them a couple.

Thanks. The woodpeckers near my house are smaller. I can't remember seeing one of these in years. Location, location, location, I guess.
