This is the tomb of Akbar, built some good 500yrs ago... a mammoth of a structure.
The photograph is taken from atop one of the four minars(the tower u see in the pic) of the entrance....

need some critique esp. about which one is more appealing...

Because of the lack of strong elements in the photo, I prefer the color one. I like this picture....it is a unique view that I have not seen before. I was here in June 2001 and I can attest to its size and beauty. I remember how hot it was early that morning.

How did you take this photo?

We were doing the measure drawing of this tomb, so we had the privilege of climbing atop the minars...
getting a lil personal mr.pradeep, i am curious if you are telugu? i am.

The black and white is better, but you need to improve it a little. What methods did you use to convert to black and white?

The black and white is better because it creates a sense of age, mystique, and even nostalgia for a time that seems to have passed... we experience the place with the black and white, with the color we get a good shot (but not with the same impact). The black and white draws the viewer in. Assuming you have a decent sized original file, I recommend you make some tweaks and print a nice black and white of that. great shot.

I used photoshop to convert the picture to black and white. i use the same to resize the pictures too.
