I was experimenting with different DOFs. What do you think?

Was this scanned or taken with a digital? If digital, what is the EXIF data? Seems to be a high ISO/not so good exposure, overly zoomed, or scanned with a not-so-good scanner.

Looks pretty good to me, exposure looks OK and I like the way the backround flowers are blurred, but not so much you can't recognize them, The only comment I have is a little touch of USM might make the first one pop out a little more. I'd be careful though, wouldn't want to bring the background out to much. Over all I think it's well done.

Very nice. I thought the foreground flower looked a little soft too but flowers should be soft. Very nice indeed. I too like the out of focus colors in the background. It gives the whole image a nice feel.

Thanks Sandy and Titus213. I'll have a good at making the front fella pop.

Thought something looked very familier with your title Damian.
I WANDERED lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Petty good, the DOF is a little too extreme maybe but looks okay. I would like more color saturation if possible. Nice composition..

I like it , Damian.
Funny thing is I'm playing around with DOF also.
The only thing I can suggest is a bit of PS.
Some curves to add contrast, select the front daffodil with a wide margin and feather loosely. Increase the saturation and inverse the selection.
Decrease the saturation and blur slightly.

Thanks for the excellent PS tutorial in a couple of short sentences. I'll have to try that. I like the crispness of the front flower in your rendition but prefer the lighter background of the original. The dark background gives it a more foreboding look?

Seems a bit soft. Needs more sharpening.
