I was trying to have her as she looked yesterday and made a ^% of it
she really was adorable
a beautiful and very shy little girl

her t shirt was a very very bright reddish pink
and didn't look so good in the shots
now I know
that's why I was messing about http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
and I didn't want her in sepia
or bl/wh

Much better shot w/o the framing, IMHO. Great eyes and hair.

I too like that shot much better without the PS work she is adoreable have you thought of doing maybe black and white with her eyes left color? I do that sometimes with my pics. you probably know how but if you dont can i try?

See marie, personally i like the un-photoshopped version much better. It allows me to focus more on the girl rather then the person behind the computer (you), which in my opinion is a better thing. I really like it, she's born to be a model :-P

I don't like bl/wh with childrens pictures much
their personalities need a little colour (I think)
I especially don't like the eyes coloured and the rest bl/wh
in any shot.
but you are most welcome to post the shot here if you do it
others like to see it ..so it's fine

thanks Timmy
I knew you would like it better and I agree
I loved the shot soon as I saw it when I put it on the computer
it was the few spots and the colour which I was trying to make nicer
as I don't like to make everything perfect especially on a child's face
I tried the other (first picture) to make it a dreamy type
the t shirt was not a nice colour in the shots
am not mad about shocking pink
I like pink but not shocking pink
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
re what you say
actually I think bl/wh puts more emphasis on the person behind the computer
I was trying to emphasize the girls mystical qualities (first shot)
and take away the rest (blemishes and colour)without taking away her personality (in bl/wh)
just my thoughts Timmy
thanks for yours.
I mean that
she will never make a model and I hope she never does
as she was different and special that moment
and that moment is enough for someone like her
she had a gentle and shy personality and that's all I wanted to capture
I never would like to see her posing and getting a different attitude about life and herself as she had a different personality from many other children
I see a few like that and I feel it in my bones ...they are special
nothing against models whatsoever
but that's a different set up ...for different people.
this one is cut out for something else
nothing wrong
takes all sorts to make a world
the last time I met a little girl something like this was in the doctor's surgery at christmas time .
she too was very special in an unique way
and , I think always will be
http://www.pbase.com/image/39411495/original.jpg
it's their personalities I try to capture if possible
not just the shot...as then it's just a shot.
I guess I want to show their souls
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif
thanks again Timmy

http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif
that's a very nice picture.
the highlights in her eyes show a little too brightly though
I don't think her eyes were two different colours
I would have noticed as I was chatting to her and looking into her eyes
not real real sure though as sometimes we don't see these things at the time
as it was her eyes which I particulary noticed and wanted to capture
think it is unlikely though http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif
thanks again

Marie- The second girl is a FANTASTIC capture. I love taking pictures of kids, and this shot really captures an innocence that gets lost along the way. Thanks for posting it.
