Hi everyone. Can't seem to find out if I've asked this question here before. I have a 40D camera and am looking for a longer camera strap similar in width to the canon strap that came with the camera. My issue that I have is that I sling the camera across my chest when not in use, but since the strap is a little short in length, I have difficulties swinging the camera around into position for use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Canon strap appears to be about 50"-52" long and would like a strap that is 6 - 10" longer.

You might want to replace the Canon strap with a 3rd party strap such as one from Optech. Optech has various accessories for their straps including extensions.

I just got mine and love it! The little added length is nice not to mention the added security. Best $20 I've spent in a long time.

I thought I love my Optech Pro Loop until I got this strap. I love the following security and comfort features on thr strap. Best $20 spend ever.

• Soft, cushioned, breathable neck pad.
• Universal webbing connectors fit to most cameras and binoculars.
• User-friendly disconnects allow the strap to be quickly clipped to
camera case without removing webbing from camera.
• Neoprene sleeves cover connectors for maximum security and
camera protection.
The length of 60in is also very good.
The anti-theft high tensile stainless steel wire on the edge of the strap, un-cuttable and unbreakable (nice security feature).

I was going to get the R-Strap until I saw this. Build your own and make it as long as you need. $12 shipped for everything.

Bah! R-strap, what a waste. The Crumpler strap does just what you want and what I wanted as well. I was so happy with it, now its easier to use two cameras with one across my chest.

I have the Pacsafe 100 on both cameras. Excellent strap, completely secure and moves easily from hip to eye.

You may want to try www.upstrap.com. They produce some very strong camera straps.

I got the free strap from SmugMug for the few times I do have one on. It is long enough to wear like the R Strap and still have the camera below your waist. And can be used shorter.

for the carrysafe 100, what's the weight rating? how much load can it handle? i know the strap itself seems strong especially with the wire webbing... but i'm more concerned with the metal clip itself...

Also look at the City Strap (http://www.corporatetravelsafety.com/catalog/security-shoulder-strap-extra-long-p-45.html) which comes in 55" and 65" versions.

I replaced the metal rings with Adapt-Its (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/542472-REG/OP_TECH_USA_1301322_System_Connectors_Adapt_Its.ht ml)from Op/Tech systems.
