Hi, mullhawk,

Yes, it is the XSi ( here is a quote from a review: The EOS Kiss X2 (called EOS Rebel XSi in North America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America) and EOS 450D elsewhere ...).
I sent my camera to have a problem corrected - and lo and behold the power supply board had to be replaced - and it came back with a new name, namely, EOS Kiss X2! Also, the shutter clicks started back at a little above Zero. Oh, well, it is okay with me as long as it works better. I had sent in the camera and a lens to check out the lens more than the camera (it had some optic problems) and that was fixed, and, as I said above, the power supply board was replaced. I did not know the board was faulty!

I bought the little rascal here in New Orleans, and, the EXIF used to say XSi, so maybe it had been on vacation in the Far East...

Here's mine. A shot of my friends dog just as she's grabbing the tennis ball in a full sprint. Perfect timing! Wish I could have conveyed the sense of motion more but this dog was so damn fast I had to keep the shutter speed up to keep the dog in focus.

I'm going to have to give it to Kiwichris this time.

Kiwichris gets my vote again. This shot definitely shows motion and was composed nicely without any distractions. Good effort by everyone though.

ckort is my vote if permitted to vote. I like the ball in mid air in the mouth. Nicely done.

Difficult choice for me, the picture that appeals to me most is Reinheim's contrails, I find the simplicity and almost monochromatic colour, plus the geometric aspect, all very appealing. I look at it and ask myself, where are you going, what wonderful places could we go to.I could happily hang that on my wall. Gets my vote.

Ckort, excellent timing and technically spot on. I can not put my finger on why the picture just does not appeal to me, as I like dogs also.

JustAl, I find yours somewhat confusing, my eyes follow the motion then end up on the driver and the gauges.

Rdguy, yes your second shot was better than the first :)

Now I am first to admit I am not a qualified judge, these are my opinions only, sort of based on a 'gut feel' more than anything. I do believe critiques need to be honest, but that honesty does not need to be disparaging or spiteful, just something we can all learn from.

I hope that I have not hurt anyone here, I think we all did well. Even Rdguy's first one was working in the right direction.

Thanks for the critique, I appreciate it. I was trying for the blur in motion, and hand held at the arena did not give me the clear background I was hoping for. I went out with my son last night to get the train and I am much happier with the result. I learn and challenge myself with each of these topics, and look forward to the next.

Now back to regularily scheduled voting. ....

I still love the dog shot.

I agree with kiwichris's critique as far as my photo goes. It doesn't fit this subject 100%. It's more of an action shot than an object in motion.
Had Reinheims photo been zoomed in a little more and a tighter crop, it would have been my pick no doubt. The photo also left me wondering where they were going. The contrails made that shot.
rdguy, if your second photo was your submission, it to would have been a winner, nice job!

I guess we're waiting for Reinheim's vote. Will see if I can't get him in here and do just that ;).

Ckort is the winner by one vote. well done everybody, ckort picks the next challenge, hopefully we can get some more submissions from now on. I will try to spice it up somehow for the next one.
