I found this site which shows in detail how to make your own RS60-E3 compatible remote control - I'm going to build mine this weekend!

I'm not too sure about it's use on the 20D as I know for sure it will not work on the 10D. I made one for my DRebel and it's great. I use it in the studio as a major peice of my equipment.
