After I had taken pics of my friend Rebecka, she got to borrow my camera. She has never used a digital SLR before, but I think they came out nice! :)
Hm, and yes, I'm crap at posing.

I agree. She did a good job and you are very pretty. You look a little bit tense in what's otherwise a relaxed environment. But you certainly are a lovely young lady. I agree, Minnesota needs to WATCH OUT!!

love the pictures (otherwise...see next) and the colours Claire
except for ....I think the background is all wrong
it's all slanted and throwing everything around in confusion ... right behind you
distracting from your beautiful appearance

I really like number 2, but I think it would have been better if your hand was by your side instead of up against the tree. Also, were you using a fill flash, as I think that the photos may have benefited from a very soft fill. Well done.

Marie, the comments on the background are very valid. I don't think we even thought about that. We're surrounded by a few tiny hills and by the water. It's a small area that I go to and have taken quite a few shots of in winter and summer. Will remember to think more about background and tell her that too.
Poke, no fill flash. She just pushed the shutter.
Bloo and Charles, yes I probably look tense. She told me to look serious, but then I became too serious, and well...it's tough getting the facial expression when you don't know what the photographer is after! That's why I usually tell my models to think of certain situations etc. At least it help a bit.

I have the kind of face that evokes the comment, "What's wrong?" even when nothing is wrong. In fact, when I was born, that was the doctor's comment.
I thought I was the only one ... I've been hearing that question all my life.
I like the first one, Claire ... I like the way the light is on your (pretty!) face. Strange thing ... I didn't even notice the slanted backgrounds until I read Marie's comments - now I can't help but notice them.

I'll bet you have more fun behind the camera than in front of it. :) That's probably true of most photographers. ;)

Very nice pictures Claire!
Now I would like to see some where you are not so serious looking!
Best regards,
Andy

Geesh, I have to smile?? I'm a photographer, not a model! :p Ok, ok, I admit a part of me likes being in front for a change. But it's a totally different feeling when someone else takes the pics. I'm used to doing self-portraits!

I like the second set of pics the best. You should be in front of the camera more. VERY PRETTY.

:o :o :o
Thanks for the comments on my looks, but hey, it's the person behind the camera who's doing the portraying. :) I think my friend would be able to take some really good pics if she got to use my camera more often. She also draws like me, so I know she has the eye for composition and imagery.
And yes, Charles has graciously offered to shoot me (god, that sounds so bad!) if I'm ever around his neck of the woods. If I ever am, I'd be honoured to pose for him. And of course, as soon as I get hitched I'll ask Bloo Dog to take the pics. ;) And I'll make sure to give him another outrageous story of a terrible bridezilla for his forum collection. :D :D

P.S. I'm off to Spain now for a few days! Looking forward to some new photo opportunities!

Feels weird, huh? That's why I have hundreds of pictures of everyone but there are none of me! :-)
