Alright, I chose some alternate shooting angles and found a nice area to shoot at. My dog is modeling for me :D

Thoughts? Minor editing has been applied.

3 & 6 would work for me IF they were sharp?

I had these on a tripod. I have no idea why they are not sharp. For some reason, I have a very hard time shooting silver vehicles. Other colored vehicles come out incredibly clear.

these dont seem like color issues, these seem like focus issues, or a lens being soft problem.

I like the angle and DOF in number 5 - but the car seems dirty. Should wash it for a photo shoot! :)

The Corvette in THE quintessential American Sports car though - so how bad can they really be?

you shot at 2.8? why would you do that? Dont you want the whole car in the same DOF?

I will try that next time. I am still a big newbie at this, but I believe I shot some of these at F7.1, but most I did shoot at 2.8. I am mainly concerned with my the pictures are blurry whenever I shoot silver anything.

I am going to wash it today. I have been a bit lazy.

Are you sure it is not just a property of the lens? I ask because other pictures I have taken with different vehicle are pretty clear. Perhaps the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 has trouble with silver subjects?

?
the first two were at f5... all the rest were f2.8... thats why they dont work really and they are super soft.. my suggestion is to use something narrower. you are over exposing a little bit... just so you know..

So maybe f13 or so?

You mentioned that you were manually focusing in one of your other posts, are you using auto focus or manual focus? If you want the car color to pop, it needs to be clean. Watch the shadows, a couple of pics you can see the shadows from the trees.

In your other post where you took pics at a car meet with a couple of Ford GT's you took the below pic of a silver Ford GT. You should be applying the same technique when taking pics of your Vette.

I agree with the above. And next time make sure the car is clean. The camera WILL pick it up!

I used AF. The manual was only used for one set of photos just for me to test it out to see if I could get the focus I wanted. I will keep this in mind for the next time I shoot.

angle on #6 is my favorite, but as others said, looks like you had focusing issues. You should have no problem shooting f/2.8 on the long end (150-200) and getting the whole car in focus

Nice car, but the pics don't do anything for me...and I find the dog extremely distracting.
