The dollar hit 3 YEAR peak highs in London today. Good news against the surging lens prices.

Here's a glimpse of the "good old days" for buyers of a few months ago.
Below are rough high/lows for used lens prices on the forum. from mid December. It was a good time to buy. (oddly: the 10-22 was a bit high then on resale) Look at the 17-40L prices LOW then. I saw most going for $500 even and a 17-55 was $780 or so. Obviously hoods and free filters may be "hidden" in these ranges but they are averages from over a week or so.

Mid December 2008

10-22
$660/$580 "trend breaker"
17-40L
$525/$475
17-50
$360/$310
17-55
$850/$750
24-70
$925/$870
24-105
$900/$735
70-200F4
$495/$435
70-200F4 IS
$800
70-200F2.8
$850

Thing is, it doesn't really matter how well (or poorly) the US dollar is doing against the pound, but how it is faring vs the yen.

*sigh*

Don't forget to throw some supply and demand in there to muddy the waters.

Woohoo! If I weren't so broke I'd jump on a plane to London. Been wishing I could go visit, but cringed every time I saw the exchange rate.
