100-400mm and t-con (SPLIT from Wildlife Zoom poll)

I'm still trying to find someone who has tried a 1.4x converter with a 100-400mm IS f4.5 lens on a 20D and can tell me unequivacably that the autofocus works and at which aperture values. Autofocus is essential for me because I have eye problems.

Unequivacably the answer is NO.

You could always buy a 1D but then you'd lose 0.3 magnification which of course makes the upgrade not only a lot more expensive than a 640 lens but also moot...
