Who is shooting the U2 show? and...where is it???

I know I'm dying to get into this...and for no other reason besides the fact that I was a troubled teenager hooked on booze, missed the opportunity, not only to see the band, but also to meet them. I don't know when exactly, somewhere between 87-90....Wanna know what I was doing? Sleeping....I didn't bother to wake up and meet the people who went to the show that day...do I call it a regret? YES!

Help me move one....

Who's going, who's shooting??

Seriously, if anyone is lucky enough to be headed to the show I would like to hear about it...

are you talking about the rumored club gig? i'm sure that's gonna be extremely difficult to just get in the door, nevermind to actually get a photo pass...

From the Globe "Tickets? Forget about it. There aren't any. Invites are being doled out by local radio stations. (WBCN, WZLX, WFNX, WAAF, Mix 98.5, and Radio 92.9 were all hyping the Hub show yesterday.)"

There are no tickets period. It's a "Guest List".

Photographers, I doubt there will be many. Maybe for the Globe and Herald... possibly the big agencies like Getty.... Doubtful any others.

I'd like to see them and hear them again. The first and only concert I saw was at UMASS back in 82 after the release of Boy. Never thought about bringing a camera back then.

I spoke with their management this morning, and they just called me back after checking with the publicist, who said that photographers aren't going to be credentialed for the shows.

I also asked which venue, but they said it will be kept under wraps until the day of the event.

my rumor folks are saying the Wilbur.... not Somerville (the somerville theatre rumor got that huge write up in the globe yesterday)

sucks about no credentialed photogs.

No connections. I called up their NY office, explained who I shoot for and asked about the credentialing process. They asked for my phone number and email address and said they'd check with the publicist, and they gave me a call back a few hours later (which I didn't expect at all).

I emailed the owner of the theater last week and never heard back. I've emailed him in the past regarding 2 other shows there and always received a reply within a day. That doesn't mean anything, but I think you're right regarding venue. I wonder if anything interesting will happen after the show at the Burren or the aptly named Joshua Tree a block away. Anyone interested in possibly meeting up there to check it out, shoot me a PM.

well they aren't touting it as an actual gig...more of like a preview of the new record, and some Q&A time w/ the audience...and since people aren't paying for tickets, you get what you pay for. :D

Well, it IS U2, so even if they only played 1 song, there would still be loads of hype. And in the end, I'd love to be there, even if it is only 4 songs.

Whoever gets tickets is verrrrrry lucky ;)

Oh really? All I kept hearing was "secret show" so I was expecting an actual SHOW, not a four song TEASE...but you're right..free is free. That should be one interesting Q&A session...um...anyone with a question for Bono, raise your hand!

In one of the pics you can see a photog with a mounted flash shooting the show...

I didn't look through the entire gallery, but it looks like the beginning ones came from a point & shoot.
