I dont have the lens cleaner, however I was wondering if I could use any household items to clean it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

All you need is a soft lint free cloth. I wouldn't recomend any glass cleaners designed for windows on your camera lens ;).

You can purchase a lens cleaning kit for less than $5 US. I have always used the lens cleaning tissues that come in these kits. They do not produce lint and are safe for the glass.
