Canon 20D 1/400th f5.6 ISO 400 EF100mm f2.8 Macro

This little fella was quite the acrobat - normally don't see them doing this in the daytime, but he was obviously a hungry little boy.

I love it. I think that's the first possum picture I've ever seen posted here... :)

As you can see the little guy has some sharp little toothies. He didn't make a noise, but opened his mouth like he was going to hiss and showed his teeth. After leaving a raw egg for him, we retreated. :) For some more info about possums, here's a web page (http://www.kiva.net/%7Ekiwi/opossum/opossum.htm)

Nice pics. Did he hiss at you?
They''re as common here as colds. I have pics of them running off my deck - they come up looking for catfood. Unfortunately, about half of the ones I see are really dead, lying on the road. 'Possum, skunks and groundhogs have poor instincts for avoiding automobiles.

Those Possums are qute. Do you ever see them play Possum, or is that a myth?

So thats what a Possum looks like? I guess they are kind of the equivalent of our Grey Squirrel - always trying to raid the bird feeder!

Nice shots. They look like they could easily rip your fingers off with them little teeth of theirs.

I don't think that we have them around here.

Thats a really great shot. I would edit the top right corner though, not sure what that is.

Razor sharp as good natural history images should be. Great.

We don't got gators or possum. We's a tad too far North. http://www.pbase.com/giant001/image/41515919.jpg

Thanks for all the nice comments. I haven't seen the little rascal since that day, so either he has found better pickins' or someone has found him to be a tasty treat. (or a car got him, which is so often the case, thus the name.... "road kill" )
