Dose anyone have this book, if so is it worth buying and can it teach you how to get the most out of your G1?

I purchased this book shortly after buying my G1 and would buy it again because, for me, it is that good. It covers a lot of photography basics which I thought I didn't need but, as it turned out, did me a lot of good. As far as the G1 coverage, think of it as an advanced users manual. It covers all the "how to's" about the G1 and sprinkles it with basic photo understanding so you will know why it is necessary to do it this way.
As far as the special quirks of the G1, don't expect any help with this book. If the user's manual says perfect focus can be obtained by placing your focal plane directly in the center of the LCD, the book parrots this statement. Many have learned this is not always true and have come to understand why and how to compensate with the G1. I have learned at least as much from the Canon forum at Dpreview and this excellent forum as I did from the book.
You shelled out big bucks for the G1; now get all the help you can to make yourself a G1 photographer. You won't be sorry.
