I shot this on a fairly overcast day and converted the picture to b/w. I had a hard time keeping the shadows from the soilder's face. I'm very new to digital photography and am learning as I go along. Please let me know what you think and offer any suggestions.

Actually, it's just my opinion, but I think the shadows on the face work well in the photo... Nice shot.

The image need to be rotated slightly, it is leaning to the left.

I like the shadows on the face as well.

I also agree with Hellashot, it's leaning to the left and I think also needs to be centered.

I think the statue should be fixed becuase it is leaning and it should be either all the way to the left or all the way to the right becuase it never looks good when an object is centered. an object centered in the middle of the shot is bad photography

Better. :)

I still think there's a little too much space on the left but that's obviously debatable. ;)

I think the streetlights and the black cylinder would be distracting if this was in color. In B&W I notice them, but it's not a heavy distraction.

Good shot.

yeah, that is better but I still think it would be better to have it over more to one side but becuase the base is wider than the man the that he is leaning you really can't do that so I would say the next and only thing you can do would be a close-up crop put him in the middle and have the shot just be him
