Here are a couple of shots from the opening night of the boys basketball state tourney. My boys season is shaping up to end very quickly as two of the three teams I normally cover lost tonight.

Here is my 'only one strobe fired so I made something of it' tribute to Matt. Kinda nice when a mistake becomes at least somewhat usable.

^^^ And people say PocketWizards are perfect :p
I've had them fail for me on a couple of shots too.

Actually the strobe got unplugged on this one. The PW's don't fail me very often at all.

Thanks Matt. For these I used 2 Elinchrom 600RX's. This gym has very easy mounting and power access so left the big bulky Rangers at home. I think I am going to take the Rangers on Friday for round 2 and play around with the short flash duration option to see if I can still get enough power to work.

How does that work with the rangers? Is a ranger a power pack?

Sorry about that. Did not explain very well.
The Rangers are a pack and head setup. Below is a link to the money black hole known as B&H that show them.

The packs have two connections for heads. You can use two heads at once or if you are using a single head you can pick which connection to use. Connection A gives you max power but operates at more normal t/0.5 durations of around 1/1200. Connection B gives you half power as a max but the t/0.5 duration is 1/2310 with the heads I am using. Their top end heads have a t/0.5 of 1/5120 on the B connection.
I bought the wrong heads because I am an idiot.

interesting. So in theory you could purchase bi-tube heads and get even faster durations. Surprised you have not invested in those yet

It is on my list of things to spend more money. I wish I would have just bought the right one's to start with. I was actually ready to order a couple then decided to buy the 5D MkII.
I have a spending problem. :-)

Agreed with Matt, the colors just jump at ya. One of the things I really do love about strobed stuff. Good work as always.

I'm afraid if I get it to three lines it will be viewed as admission of a serious spending problem. :-)

Thanks Scott. It sure is hard to beat the pop from strobes.
