View Full Version : Any thoughts on this close-up filter Please

Has anyone either used or had any dealings with this cheap filter would it be ok for the G6 adapter or is it rubbish your thoughts would be welcome there is 2 reviews that think its great thank you...Ray:)

i doubt youll find someone with experience with that specific filter but...

i use a no-name macro lens that came with my old wide angle lens that i
converted to a fisheye. the small piece to the right in this pic is the macro
lens. it works great...nice magnification, very sharp with no IQ loss that i
see, and improved bokeh. the only thing that does happen sometimes, is
some light CA toward the outer edges when working in bright light, but its
nothing iv ever had an issue getting rid of in PP

i guess the moral of my ramblings here...is that the lens will work fine as long
as your not intending it for professional use. im very happy with mine and would
never spend anywhere near the price of a name brand macro lens when my no-name
brand works as good as i can imagine.

if i were you though, id go on ebay and find a package deal for a macro kit.
you can find a whole set of macro filters in various magnifications that can
be stacked for nearly as cheap as the one you pointed out.

no problem. but again...if i were you id pass on that and hit up ebay.
thats were i picked up my set up, and since you dont mind dealing with
no name brands, ebays the place to be...youll get more for your money
