How waterproof / water resistant is the Expedition 5?

The Expedition has water-resistant zipper and a draw string to cover the zippers. I have the bag the thing is huge. Very comfortable to wear. Not sure what your looking for. It seems to be a normal backpack with water-resistant zippers and a rain flap around the main compartment. Hope this helps some

I have the backpack also and it is a nice one. I'm just wondering how much rain it will stand up to if I get caught out in the rain with it. I'll be doing a charity walk I do every year and was hoping to bring it along. I just remember last year where we were caught out in the rain for several hours. I'll be bring along some plastic bags, but it's hard to keep them over the backpack while you're wearing it.

Get yourself a cheap plastic rain cape. Basically it is a tent without poles with a hole in the top for your head.:) I keep one in all my packs just incase I get caught in the rain. In fact we used them last year at the last GCPS. Check out the camping section of any big box store.

A .99 disposable poncho did it for me when I got caught out in the rain a week or so back. My back pack is not waterproof, but the poncho kept everything dry....well; except me. You do tend to work up a sweat under those things!!!
