Saw on the News yesterday morning that U2 was getting a street named after them (temporarily) I contribute to an Irish Newspaper based in NY so jumped up off the couch, threw the g9 into my coat pocket and ran for the bus. I had to be in the city anyway, but thought, what the heck, if I make it, I make it!

Sure enough, got to Ed Sullivan Theater W53rd Street & B'Way just in time, stood outside in the freezing cold for about 45 min before the ceremony but, it was worth it I think, although all the Paparazzi were looking at me and my poor G9 with pitty and got a few smirks, but I got my shots, and will be published today in this weeks paper. (ill post a link afterwards to the paper.)

anyway, heres for the photos

also posted a 640 px video taken with the G9 on my blog.

Im very happy with the results, there is a bit of camera shake as it was freezing cold on the street and could not operate the camera controls with my glove on!

Would like to hear what anybody else thinks? The G9 definitely proves itself as a grab and go alternative to the Dslr kit. I know this may strike somepeople as I was using a P&S in a Paparazzi scenario but.....I have a job to do aswell.

Dang jobs get in the way ...if they don't involve shooting!

;)

Nice PJ work!

My G9 never leaves me except in the shower. (Only because the wife won't let me take pics of her in there).

Shots look great!!

That little bugger does a damn fine job when given enough light. The only limitation I have found with mine is using high ISO and getting extreme amounts of noise.

The first shot is definitely newspaper worthy!!

I don't know if there are any other South Park fans out there, but I can never look at Bono the same!!!

Thank you

A nice thing about that too is that the guys with the nice cameras are all shooting their flashes off so you can just use that light for the picture.
