That's one of the nicest Horsehead's I've seen in while. Well done.
What were the exposures, etc ? Mount ? Manual or auto guiding ?
You should be proud of that.

Steve.

Nice one Chris ! Looks like you have some gradient or noise to deal with tho . You should be able to clear that up . Did you set the gray point in PS before you edited ?

Thanks guys.
Image specs: Unmodded 40D. Hutech IDAS LPS. 80mm f/6.25 ISO 1600. 78.5 minutes total. 7/240 10/120 20/60 31/30. 20 each: Darks at each sub, Flats, Dark Flats, and Biases.
I really had no clue what i was doing. This exposure plan would have been great for M42. For horsehead next time I'll just shoot as many 4 minute subs as i can.
Celestron. No didn't set gray before editting. Did it somewhere in the workflow. Is that important to do early in the flow?

Thats a very nice horse and flame indeed. Bit of a gradient in lower left but then there is a lot of background nebulosity in this area so it may not actually be that far off.

What camera and exposure details?
