Hello Guys,

Before I get booed of the forum, anyone tried this lens. The Rokinon 500mm at 5.6 might just be the one time lens to shoot my sons Crew pics. At $109 I'm very curious. I always wanted to try one of this mirrored lenses when I used to shoot film these things where $500 now about the price of diner for four.

Comments?

Never used one, but I looked it up on the inter-webbie, and looks like most mirror lenses. Has both benefits and drawbacks.

To be honest, for the money, you might as well try it out, as long as you won't have an issue with holding it steady - ie tripod.

If you get it, let us all know if it's worth the effort.

I was reading in Photo Camel and guys have mixed feelings, most trash it and a guy points out that if it gets you the shot for the money why not. I like his attitude, I mean we all want a 400mm 2.8 but not all can afford one. I guess the other alternative is a 2x converter but I guess that's another post.

I did a "Rokinon 500mm" search on flickr.
If people don't lie in their tagging, I gotta say, seems like a great lens for that price. Go see.
