My neighbor and I went to Larch Mountain in Oregon on March 8th, 2005 to get some sunset pictures of Mt. Hood. From Larch Mountain you can see 5 peaks. Mt. St Helens is 46 miles due north from Larch Mountain. We arrived at the top at 5:15 PM, just in time to see the latest Mt. St. Helens eruption. After we left (at dark) I realized I only had one picture of Mt. Hood.
Comments/suggestions for improvement?

Great shot, really puts it in scale as to how huge it is. :)

Wonderful! Good sense of scale complemented by the wonderful side lighting on the vapour.

Timing might be everything . . . but a good shot is just a good shot. When the photo gods smile on one, don't blink, shoot.
