Today I paid a visit to this wonderful building.
Built in the last quarter of the XIX century, it was financed mostly by the coffee plantation lords of the time, and it's truly a gem in all of central america.
Most of the pics are from the foyer and the entrance Hall. I included one of the theatre proper,; as you will see the light was very poor, and no flash nor tripods were allowed.
Hope you like them.

Freddy, I had the pleasure of visiting that theatre on a tour of San Jose several years ago. You have done an outstanding job of capturing that magnificent building, especially under the restrictions imposed. Good work.

Freddy,

Amazing pictures. I was in Costa Rica last year but spent most of my time in Manuel Antonio Beach & Volcano Arenal (Tabacon), next time I go I will be sober :p and take my camera:cool:. Your country sure is beautiful.

Truly beautiful pictures. I was in Costa Rica a few years ago with my CR grandmother and I had a chance to visit the Teatro. I can't believe you got such great pictures without flash. I was not so successful, but then again I had a very cheap camera. Hope to visit soon now that I have my Rebel XT.

Wow!bling-tastic decor...

I've tried photographing these grand old interiors and its pretty tough to get the lighting right - you've got some very good results here.
