Kalle, Narlus wants me to comment here as I have said I like crisp clear PJ style concert images in preference to "artsy" ones, at least for my own work, so to keep him happy, "These are very artsy ... and I like them." OK, Tim? :-)

Very interesting set... I especially like the composition and framing and timing of #6.

#1: Very nice, although I'd have cropped a wee bit closer myself.
#2: Very, very nice. Are those "jellyfish" flare? Nice.
#3: Great feel.
#4: Doesn't work for me.
#5: I can see why you composed like you did, but I'd have preferred wider. Also not a big fan of the processing (allergic to green casts ;))
#6: Great image.

Come by more often ;)

Thanks all.

Some random comments:

#2: flares are from water drops on my lens (it's from an open air stage, raining at the time). This was intentional (I collected some rain drops on the lens to make things a bit more interesting). Same stage & event & rain as in the first image.

#3: happy to hear this is mentioned in a positive sense. I like to try and "irritate" (or challenge) the viewers, and I personally also find the extra leg rather humorous there. Hard to explain this particular composition since there is no conscious rationale for doing it that way. So, anyway, happy to hear there exists a few persons in addition to me who find the picture at least interesting :)

#5 / René: can't really explain my choices in "different" compositions except that I do what I think works (which of course is not everybody's opinion)... I do like to have a secondary subject in my photos, so here through compositional choices the structure of the stage is a secondary subject.

@Dwight: I don't mind at all having a reputation of loony artsy photographer around here :)

Kalle, I think your reputation here, for those of us that have seen many of your contributions wasn't exactly "loony" but surely is "artsy", of a very excellent and high quality. I have to keep reminding people that the reason that I don't venture very far into artsy is that I'm paid to do PJ style, both concerts and fights.

Edit: Ooops, I mean "wasn't" loony! Sorry.

Thank you for your kind words.

I have to work on my looniness then, as I'm sure it will be required to get a high price from selling prints :p.
