Hello,
New guy here. I recently got a Canon G10, love it and am learning how to use it's features. I think I am interested in extending it's telephoto reach with a tele-converter. Has anyone out there had experience with the Canon TC-DC58?? How crisp are the pics?? Overall quality?? Compared to the Raynox (sp?) offerings??

I have ordered the Lensmate adapters but not the TC.
Any help? A new guy would appreciate it!!
Thanks,
Harry.

I use the Canon Teleconverter a lot, and like it. If you click on my gallery link, and look at the Zoo&Wildlife pics, and WinterRange pics - most of them were taken with the telephoto on. I'm pretty happy with the results!

I also use the Canon unit on my G9, and though I can't claim to use it a lot, I have been very satisfied with the results when I have used it.

Nicely done web site and very nice pictures PicBug. Did you the site with iWeb? The telephoto seems pretty sharp.

with the add-on...shaky hands and instability are greatly noticed.
If you do you use it, like i do, Try to keep the camera steady, as much as possible :D

Thanks for the responses!
I am on the verge of ordering this tele-converter. It seems to be very sharp, at least the test shots on The Lensmate sight are.
So far, B&H is showing a very competetive price, I like their service too!
PicBug, you have a nice gallery!, The tele shots are nice,
you really like the canon Tele-converter??
Do any others have any shots with the TC-DC58 they would like to share?
Harry.

the cheapest place to get it would be at NEWEGG.com or J&R in NYC
B&H is the LAST RESORT.

Thank you digitalzed and sightseer. Yes, I did the site with iweb, still learning how to use it. I have looked at other Phoenix Zoo shots done with higher end cameras and equipment, and my undescriminating eye can't notice much of a difference relative to the investment involved, so yes, the teleconverter is a keeper with my G9! :p Many of those photos were also cropped in even more; you have NO idea how far away I really was from the shooters and WinterRange, and the animals at the zoo. I use it sooo much more that the wide angle lens too, I might even try to sell that at some point.

Hope to see some of your pics when you get the new lens, sightseer! We have a lot of fun on the weekly challenges, come join us sometime. :-)

Half of what you see there, is the conversion lens adapter. :-) Impressive, 'eh?
