While we were at Boyce Thompson Arboretum, we had the opportunity to see an Anna's Hummingbird sitting on her nest. We watched her take off and return to feed her baby. i ws so excited to see this, I could hardly hold the camera still!
The lighting wasn't very good, but there wasn't much we could do about it. Pics were taken with my 100-400L and 1.4x TC mounted on a monopod.

Great shots, Tammie. You can see the cobwebs she used in building the nest and securing it to the branch.

How does one keep up with you . . . I won't get these 'special' birds for months yet. Very nice a always Tammie.

I'd love to see a good shot of one while they are flying. Talk about a fast shutter speed!

Thanks all.
Rj, summer will be here before too long and we'll see how the camera performs in 100+°F heat.
Michaelmjc, I tried the flying humming bird, but they were a little blurry. Should have bumped the iso more to get shutter speed above the 800 I used.
