Trying to learn PS. There are too many tools available. This is a shot of Lacamas Heritage Park. Comments and/or suggestions would be appreciated. As usual the learning curve is nearly vertical...

My approach to learning PS is just take it on a need to know basis. If I have a picture I think is too dark I work on all of the different ways to lighten it up... If I see an effect I think is interesting I'll ask the person who created it for some tips and give it a try on my own.
I agree with you that there are an overwhelming amount of tools in PS. Learn what you need to know and you'll get better and better. This forum is a great place to learn and ask questions. I am a member at other forums but few are as friendly and helpful as this one.

I don't know about PS, but this is my effort with 5mins in PicWindowPro, using curves to increase the green, and adding an 80D filter @ 50%. Not knowing what the original scene was like, I can only give my interpretation of how I think it should look.

Learn to get the shot right in the first place, with exposure, composition and content and little will need to be done.

Thanks for all the comments. I have posted two version of the picture for comparison, one the original, the other a washout I had posted in the landscape forum a couple of days ago. Hopefully which is which will be obvious....
As to learning to get the shot right in the first place - I'm trying. Believe me, I'm trying...
Thanks again.
