The following are two pics taken in St. Martin about a week ago. There is a beach right in front of the main runway.
This is one of my mom taking a picture as the plane is coming in.

This was taken at the plane flew over head. Its a weird angle, but I think that makes it unique.

Its definitely unique but at the same time hard to look at, although its a cool shot. I would have preferred the level shot , but thats just my opinion. I want to experience that sometime.

Yeah, if I had more time there I would have done a few different shots. Its the same plane as the shot above it and its really more of an accident that it came out. I was just snapping as it went over head. If I would have had a few hours or even an hour to shoot it would have been lovely. I had 20mins. It was on a family trip last week and nobody wanted to come with me to this beach. Me and my mom went and drove out there like an hour before our ship left. Next time I'm taking my time there and shooting different angles.

For what it's worth I think the second shot would work better rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
This place has always intrigued me.... And I don't shoot planes.

I havent even thought of that yet. It really does improve the pic, thanks.

Whoa, cool shots. Go to Airliners.net or YouTube and you can find tons of stuff on that airport. The videos of people getting blown across the beach by the jet engines are great (during take off).
When I searched the tail number of a 757 I shot in Detroit yesterday, there were photos of it landing at St Martin.

That's a great place to shoot from! I hope you got more than 2 shots?

Was the trip worth it? I've always wanted to go there for my whole life being an airplane buff.

There are lots of amusing YouTube videos taken from that spot as aircraft approach. What a uniquely situated airfield.

Nice shots. Just a little to the left to catch the tip of the wing and it's a perfect shot. I'd love to be there and get some of those.

I'd love to see someone take a shot directly underneath with a 10-22. I think that'd be sweet.

Neat shot - just be ready to run if they land a little short !
