Back again, taking some feedback from my previous thread and trying a few more shots, and looking for more feedback. This time around I also did some light work on cropping and touching up using GIMP. Thanks in advance.

#2 - Is the tree the main subject? if it was I think its better if its a bit closer for more detail and its on the side more
#3 - Nice shot.. try showing half of the roof? its chopped at the top
#4 - Nice... try black and white too and without the cones! :) I wonder what it would look like too if you are on further left then shoot a bit low to emphasize the road or on a bit high?

First of all, thanks for the feedback! :)
Regarding #2: This day I went out at lunch and drove around to relax and find places to shoot. I found this place but couldn't get down to be up close to the water. I zoomed in and took the shoot. The tree isn't supposed to be the subject, per se; I was trying to grab the water and background. I didn't think the tree was too bad in the shot, though. I'll have to see about going back and trying what you suggested.
#3: Good idea. I have a wider shot of the house, but there I thought the side with the woodpile would be an interesting shot to show.
#4: The cones annoyed me to no end. The thing is, I was driving back and on some back roads in a nice rural area, and coming down a hill I saw this beautiful hillside with a house at the top of the property. The road is windy so I couldn't stop at the top and take a shot, so I pulled in to the very front of the drive way and took this shot. I soooo wanted to move the cones, but it wasn't my property and didn't feel comfortable doing so. But I love the idea of shooting lower (and doing it in b & w), so maybe I'll take a ride back...
Thanks again!

#2 - Awww.. yeah I have those moments too! But anyway, I think yer idea of taking off the tree is really good. How about making it look aligned. For example, that wooden fence. Make it look straight in the photo?
#3 - Oh! the wood pile? LOL, I didn't notice that :) Its too dark :(
#4 - I would love to sit how you do it next time! Try shooting it at the widest too!

With #2, I think it's the angle I'm shooting from (zoomed in and high, angled). I'll have to see if I can sneak back with the wife driving and take some closer shots. :)
#3: Interesting point... maybe I should post the original color version.
#4: Actually, the shot is cropped. I *think* I shot it at the widest, but there were power lines and poles on the left and right sides of the shot, which were killing the mood, so I cropped them out. If I shoot lower like you suggested I may be able to get more out of the shot, though. Again, thanks for your feedback!

Now's your chance to hone your PS/GIMP skills and clone them out of the picture!
I like the textures in your #3 in B/W - the woodpile, the wall of the building and the roof look great together. The lines in the picture (tree, walls, roof and sloping ground) pull on the composition though - if you go back there see if you can get a better angle.
The woodpile is a bit dark, you can bring the local detail more in GIMP (or go back there with a tripod and AEB/HDR it!)

You know, it's funny, the first thing I thought of when I cropped the picture was to clone them out... but I'm not great at it (I've never done it in GIMP... I've done it in Paint.Net) and I was concerned about the shadows around there and the cloning not looking right. But I'm going to have to practice now. ;)
And regarding #3: thanks for the kind words! HDR it... now there's an interesting idea... it would be my first, but I might have to see... :)
Thanks again for your comments!
